Dr Erica McIntyre is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney in the Australian Research Centre in Complementary and Integrative Medicine (UTS:ARCCIM). Erica has a background in herbal medicine and psychology. Her research interests are in the areas of mental health and wellbeing, health services use, healthcare decision-making (patient and professional), complementary and integrative medicine, and planetary health. She is widely published in these areas, and lectures on subjects related to complementary and traditional medicine, and planetary health. Erica is passionate about advancing the evidence-base of naturopathy and herbalism. In 2016, she was appointed to the International Naturopathy Research Leadership Program, which allows her to collaborate with clinician researchers globally. Erica practiced as a herbalist for over 10 years, was on the Board of the NHAA for 7 years, and continues to contribute to a number of initiatives aiming to ensure the sustainability of the profession.
